My Approach is Different

Eat that cake at your best-friends birthday party, and discover the satisfaction factor, rather than depriving yourself.

Shift your focus on exercise, and start moving to feel your best, rather than completing a chore.

Enjoy cheesy, pepperoni pizza on a Friday night with friends, without feeling shame or guilt.

Look in the mirror and honor the beautiful genetic blueprint that you were given, and rock it!

Have that piece of chocolate with your lunch, just because you are craving it, and throw out your list of ‘good vs' bad’ foods.

You can 100% reach your nutrition goals without having to stress and feel guilty about what’s on your plate, follow a strict eating regimen and exercise for hours.

Meet Julianna!

The dietitian against dieting

I completely understand and have personally experienced the negative effects of diet culture, including the social pressure and mental exhaustion that comes with it. I used to try diet after diet to make myself believe that I was being ‘healthy’, when in reality, I was doing more harm than good and ended up with an unhealthy relationship with food. I became frustrated and finally said ‘enough was enough’.

I began to work on gaining a true understanding of what my body desired to be nourished based on my own unique needs, began to think intuitively, and soon enough, I served my disordered eating habits divorce papers and have been living a full, healthy and happy life for 10+ years associated with a high appreciation of food, while attaining to my own personal goals.

For decades, we have been exposed to alternatives for foods we love, emphasizing the importance of low-fat, low-sugar and low-calorie foods. It has been instilled in us as a society that one body should look the same size, thin. We have been told to commit to the next hot fad diet, and for some, unfortunately followed fad diets for decades, which is unrealistic and sets up an unhealthy relationship with food, pushing you further away from reaching your goals.

Fueling my passion for nutrition, I received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition through Montclair State University, NJ. After graduating, I then went on to continue my education through a combined masters/dietetic internship (MSDI) through Marywood University, PA and received a Master of Science in Nutrition. During my internship, I completed 1,200 hours of supervised practice through various rotations, focusing on all aspects of medical nutrition therapy, health promotion and wellness. Upon receiving credentialing, I immediately jumped into private practice.

When I am not assisting individuals in their journey towards healing their relationship with food and achieving their personal health goals, I find great joy taking care of my animals. I loved to take my sweet corgis, Rhea & Silas, for refreshing hikes in the beautiful outdoors. Fun fact, Rhea loves to ride in the kayak and on jet ski’s! When not in the great outdoors, cooking serves as both a hobby and a way to nourish myself and the ones I care about. It is so exciting to experiment with new recipes and to explore diverse flavors!

My most fortunate honor is the fulfillment that my wonderful clients have brought to my life beyond their work and dedication from working with me at Intuitively Nourished, and applying learned tips, tricks and tools into their daily lives.
